MEET CHAKIB OUR innovATOR Moroccan born global citizen, spent most of his adult life in the business world. Chakib held several executive roles in the information technology and manufacturing industries.

His career allowed him to work across every continent and gain exposure to many different cultures, people, religions, architecture, cuisines and arts.

Chakib has always been fascinated by how color and shape have evolved in every corner of the world. An avid photographer, he enjoyed capturing the natural beauty and the diversity of the various countries he visited.

He’s a self taught artist, starting at a very early age capturing life around him in Marrakech. In Middle school, he had the good fortune to be taught by an engaging art teacher who encouraged him to learn the basics of drawing and the science behind Moroccan geometric designs.
MEET KARIM OUR Tech GUY Alex Karim Bouhdary, business software engineer, outdoor enthusiast, passionately curious about contemporary artistic techniques. First exposed to making art in school, Karim felt constrained by conventional methods and sought his own framework to create.

Inspired by his father Chakibs’ return to painting, Karim found his innovative style through a combination of observation, experimentation and YouTube videos.

Karim credits his Anglo-Moroccan heritage as a major influence and was especially fascinated with the exotic colors and islamic geometric patterns he discovered during frequent visits to Marrakech
MEET SAMIR OUR 3d GUY Sam Samir Bouhdary, recent University of Michigan graduate, going with the flow, culturally and intellectually curious, and always experimenting.

Art was Samirs’ favorite class at school, but it wasn’t until he was introduced to ceramics at 16 that his true passion for creation was ignited. The process of muddying his hands with clay led to the intimate connection between potter and pot that peaked his interest and fueled his artistic expression. Samirs’ inspiration comes from a variety of sources that are linked to an appreciation of the many incarnations of nature.

Samir chooses not to name a genre, style or individual artist but rather is inspired by those that wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to a particular craft, idea, or style, such as the everyday work of Moroccan artisans whose creations he admires for their ingenuity, craftsmanship and functionality.
MEET JAMAL OUR music GuY Jake Jamal Bouhdary, UCSD Freshman, intellectually curious, spiritually inclined, and music addict.

Jamal believes that not only is art for everyone, but that it captures two of our most valuable abilities, to create and to imagine. Following exposure to art in school and in his personal life, Jamal continues to seek inspiration from artists and philosophers who offer their critical insights into our world.

Artists Jamal look up to include: Jean-Michelle Basquiat for his talent in telling stories and capturing emotions through his paintings, Kanye West for his exceptional ability to reinvent himself and reimagine his art, Stanley Kubrick for his dedication to his craft and meticulous attention to detail, and Andre 3000 for his remarkable capacity to express himself via multiple mediums.
ABOUT US BOUHDY.ART is a family initiative to drive a new style of art leveraging old and new mediums. We are a family of self taught artists and art admirers. We all bring something different to the mix.

While we individually have different styles, we collaborate to create new art using innovative materials; alcohol ink, resin, Yupo paper and computer graphics. We subsequently discovered that together we can create beautiful and playful art that can enhance spaces and bring joy to people’s lives.
